Fun & Tasty Challenge

I sent out an email about my new blog called Picky Palates @ http://www.pickypalates.blogspot.com/. It's definitely going to be a challenge with my picky eaters. I can just about eat anything but my boys aren't up for that so much. So this is why it'll be such a challenge. One new recipe a week and I'll be blogging about it! I'll be posting the recipes as well. I hope you enjoy it and you are more than welcome to try the recipes out if they are appealing to you! They will not be my recipes. I will be browsing the internet or getting them from family members that will be ok with me posting about it or from a cook book :) Should be interesting but fun trying new things! I look forward to your comments about it!

Justins New Positions

It's been a pretty intersting month I must say! A good interesting! After the hustle and bustle and craziness of the Holidays, Justin has been busy studying and applying for some new positions at work. He has made us proud. He applied for the position as a Field Training Officer (FTO), he placed 1st out of 22 deputies who tested for it! Hoorah!!! He will remain on the same shift, but as an FTO officer he will get trainees and teach them how to be a street deputy, for example...how to write reports right, and how to speak correctly on the radio when in pursuit or any other matter, etc, ect. His life is now in the hands of the trainee, as far as the driving goes, which is pretty scary, but I know the Lord will watch out for him.

Another position he aquired, Is a KLEA (Kern Law Enforcement Association) board member. It was that time of year for new members to be voted in on to the board. He has made quite an impact in the life of his fellow deputies and they highly respect Deputy Weidenkopf :) There was a few younger and newer deputies who made comments at the meeting that they think he would make a great board member and bring great moral to the department. I, being his wife, think that boosted his confidence, and led him to apply for a position as a board member for KLEA and to our surprise he was voted in!! What a great accomplishment! He is pretty excited! As we all know of our Justin, he's a very hard worker, does his job well and with great pride. He was sworn in on January 11th along with 6 other great men, who happen to be his close friends, so that makes it all the more exciting. He will serve for 1 yr.

The Lord knows what he has in store for him with these leading roles in the department and I feel he will make a huge impact in the Union as a board member and with the future deputies who will work along side him to better protect and serve us. I am one proud wife :)

Outstanding Performance In Spelling

And he does it again!!! Matthew got an award for Outstanding Performance in Spelling!! He also got a 4.0 report card! so very proud of him! Way to go bubs!! He was getting 100's on all his spelling tests and the teacher felt he wasn't being challenged enough so after the 1st quarter of school the teacher bumped him up to 4th grade spelling words. He continues to get A's on all his tests!

Dinosaur Kid turns 9!!

Matthew is 9 yrs old!! I can't believe it! Makes me feel so old :( This year we celebrated his birthday at Tony's Pizza! lots of fun games and friends!
